Can I make my own food liquids plant finished using tomato plants?
I recently harvested the last of my tomatoes and wondering if I can use the left over plant material to make a liquid feed for the next year? I was going to hit the cuts in a big bucket and fill it with water. Will it work?
Bad idea. Tomatoes are a garden plant that should not be composted. Too much risk in the spread of disease. No There is nothing in the plant itself, which will be useful for making a Liquid Fertilizer for your plants. It has great potential to do much more harm than good. If you want to do your own liquid fertilizer, use of comfrey leaf or nettle. Be prepared, it will stink like something died. It's not really something you want to do now and store all winter for use next year. Let the next year and use next year.
